The effigy of Saint Lucide adorns the old château chapel. We chose his name for our first Syrah cuvée.

Terroir

North-facing, altitude 300 m. Plots representing the geological diversity of the estate: Quaternary limestone scree, Urgonian limestone scree, and Eocene clay-sand soils; strong daily temperature variation throughout the year.

Viticulture

Organic conversion started at the end of 2018; vines average 40 years old; organic fertilizers; active promotion of biodiversity and soil microbiome enrichment.

Harvest

Between September 16 and 28. Low yields, around 20 hl/ha.

Vinification

3-week maceration for Syrah and Grenache; semi-carbonic maceration for Carignan; blend: 92% Syrah, 5% Grenache, 3% Carignan; aged 18 months: 45% in tronconic oak vats, 30% in large foudres, 25% in stainless steel; sulfites below biodynamic standards. ALCO 14%.

Tasting

Color: deep red with violet reflections. Nose: blackberry, concentrated dark fruits; spices, pepper, grilled meat, toasted bread notes. Palate: amplified aromas, especially spices; well-integrated oak; firm but smooth tannins; good length.
