Terroir

The Luberon terroir, furthest east in the Rhône Valley, enjoy exceptional freshness thanks to cold air currents running through the river beds of the Durance and the Calavon - which borders our estate. 

Healthy soils are essential to the quality of the wines. We converted to organic culture as soon as bought the vineyard. We work to aerate and nourish the soils, and improve organic mass. We grow cover crops and use horses for some delicate work in our most important parcels. We used natural fertilisers and compost. 

The vineyard is now run biodynamically, which we believe is the only way to make great wines : herbal concoctions, cow dung solution and lunar calendar are not witchcraft but amazing tools when used professionally. They help make the vines more resistant to diseases, frost and extreme heat. Biodynamics improves the quality of the grapes and the purity of the wines
